Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Ember is a desktop application that generates and edits images on your own computer. This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with your information.

The short version

Ember has no account system, collects no personal information, and contains no analytics or telemetry of any kind. Your prompts, reference images and generated pictures are processed on your machine and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

What stays on your computer

All of the following is stored only in a folder inside your own user profile, and never leaves your device:

Image generation and editing are performed by an inference engine running as a local process on your computer. No part of that work is sent to a remote server.

When Ember uses the internet

Ember works offline for everything except the two cases below. Neither one sends us any information, because we operate no server and receive no data from the app.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no registration, no login, no usage tracking, no crash reporting and no advertising identifier. We have no servers that receive data from the application, and therefore no database in which any information about you could exist.

Your model files and folders

When you register a model file that is already on your disk, Ember records its location so it can read it. Registered files are never copied, moved or modified. Removing a model from Ember removes only the reference, unless you explicitly ask for the file to be deleted.

Log files

Ember writes a diagnostic log to your own user profile folder to help you troubleshoot problems, for example when the inference engine fails to start. This log stays on your computer. It is never transmitted anywhere. If you choose to email it to support so we can help with a problem, that is entirely your decision.

Children

Ember is a general-purpose creative tool and is not directed at children. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
